On December 19, 2017, Elezhan Zhakiya succesfully defended his Master's thesis entitled "Use of Unsupervised Machine Learning for Detection of Anomalies in Seismic Signal." He is shown here with his advisor, Prof. Bradford Hager. Elezhan graduated from MIT in 2016 as a double-major in Chemical Engineering and EAPS, then stayed on to earn his Master's in EAPS, working with several ERL researchers.
