ERL Students Aid Search for Drinking Water on St. Lucia

February 6, 2016

During MIT's January 2016 Independent Activities Period, ERL grad students accompanied Prof. Dale Morgan to the Caribbean Island of St. Lucia, where they helped the government find new sources of drinking water while getting hands-on experience in applied geophysics.  Their equipment included the seismograph and geophones recently donated by some of our sponsors and alumni, as well  as a cutting-edge gravity meter on loan from its manufacturer Scintex.
