"Large scale applications of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) to formation evaluation is one of the biggest achievements in down hole oil and gas exploration in last two decades. Unique information from NMR measurements, such as total & effective porosity, irreducible water, pore size, permeability, and oil viscosity, attracts a lot of attention in the oil industry. In this talk, Dr. Xiao will summarize the development of inside-out NMR and introduce the innovation of three dimensional NMR wireline instruments, which include design of magnet, antenna, electronics, pulse sequences, data processing, inversion, and interpretation through case studies."
