Dr. Philip Reppert, Project Scientist at the US National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and MIT Earth Resources Laboratory alum, presents "Geophysics in the Department of Defense" at MIT ERL .

"The United States Government has many organizations that use geophysics, they include the Department of Interior, the Department of Energy, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the Department of State and the Department of Defense. This talk will focus on the Department of Defense (DoD) and its many uses of geophysics. This talk provides a high level overview of the different geophysics mission areas. Dr. Reppert will talk about the opportunities he’s had to conduct basic research while working in the DoD. He will also provide his views about where DoD related geophysical research needs to go in the future."
