Dr. Matchette-Downes recently completed his PhD working with Prof. Robert van Der Hilst of ERL/EAPS. He joined EAPS as a graduate student in September 2015. He is currently studying Stoneley modes on the core-mantle boundary. He also investigates the evolution of the Tibetan Plateau using Rayleigh wave dispersion, receiver functions, virtual deep seismic sounding and zircon geochronology.
