  • Postdoctoral Associate 2014-2019
  • PhD, Inst. de Physique du Globe de Paris, 2014
  • MSc, Seismology, Strasbourg U., 2010
Biographical Overview
Dr. Mordret was a postdoctoral associate in ERL/EAPS from 2014-2019. He is now a postdoc at U. Grenoble Alpes and also works for Sisprobe, a company he cofounded. He received his MSc in Seismology from Ecole et Observatoire des Sciences de la Terre (EOST), Strasbourg University in 2010 and his PhD from Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris, France in 2014. His thesis title is “Imaging and monitoring using correlations of seismic noise in an industrial context: application to the Valhall network”. Aurelien’s research interests focus on different aspects of seismology including, but not limited to: utilization of ambient seismic noise correlations, volcano seismology, surface-wave analysis for near-surface characterization and local scale tomography, seismic anisotropy. He is very interested to work with very dense seismic networks which are new tools that he believes will allow us to make tremendous progress in seismology. In his research, Aurelien was also involved in micro-seismicity analysis as well as near-surface studies using Ground Penetrating Radar, gravimetry, GPS and Electrical Resistivity Tomography.
