Biographical Overview:

John (Jack) Germaine received a BSc (1972) in Civil engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He received both his MSc (1980) and DSc (1982) in Geotechnical Engineering from MIT. After graduation Jack started as a Research Associate /Lecturer in the Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) Department at MIT. He became a Principal Research Associate/Lecturer in 1986 and a Senior Research Associate/Senior Lecturer in 2006. In 2015 Jack accepted a Research Professor’s position in the CEE Department at Tufts School of Engineering. Jack is also Co-Director of the UT GeoFluids Consortium at the University of Texas at Austin.
