On August 18, 2021, Harry succesfully defended his PhD thesis entitled “Some studies on the computation and interpretation of seismic interface waves and modes in Earth’s mantle.” His advisor was Prof. Robert van der Hilst of ERL and the MIT Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Studies.

On August 17, 2021, Eric succesfully defended his PhD thesis entitled “Analyzing the Collective Behavior of Earthquakes to Better Understand Fault Mechanisms.” His advisor was Prof. Robert van der Hilst of ERL and the MIT Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Studies.

On August 16, 2021, Shujuan succesfully defended her PhD thesis entitled “Monitoring and Imaging Seismic Velocity Changes Across Temporal and Spatial Scales.” Her advisor was Prof. Robert van der Hilst of ERL and the MIT Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Studies.
