On November 4, 2025, Yudong successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled “Modeling Complex Evolution of Slow to Fast Earthquakes on Simple and Heterogeneous Faults”. His advisor was Prof. Camilla Cattania of the Dept. of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences and Dr. Sun is the first PhD from her lab.
