Oleg Poliannikov received his PhD in Electrical Engineering, Signal and Image Processing, from North Carolina State University (NCSU) in 2003. After graduation, he remained at NCSU for two years as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Center for Research in Scientific Computation. In 2005 Oleg accepted an assignment as a Visiting Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Colorado. Oleg joined MIT’s ERL as a Postdoctoral Associate in 2007 where he was promoted to a Research Scientist in 2011. Oleg’s research interests include wave propagation in complex media, scattering, seismic interferometry and stochastic optimization.
