Biographical Overview
Oleg Poliannikov received his PhD in Electrical Engineering, Signal and Image Processing, from North Carolina State University (NCSU) in 2003. After graduation, he remained at NCSU for two years as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Center for Research in Scientific Computation. In 2005 Oleg accepted an assignment as a Visiting Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Colorado. Oleg joined MIT’s ERL as a Postdoctoral Associate in 2007 where he was promoted to a Research Scientist in 2011.
Oleg’s research interests include wave propagation in complex media, scattering, seismic interferometry and stochastic optimization.
